Mothers of Sexually Abused Children
If you’re reading this, I am so sorry about what you’re experiencing. You are likely going through one of the worst experiences of your life. Firstly, you are not alone. I have worked with many moms who have been in your boat, and there is healing. In therapy with me, you will feel safe from the judgment of your friends and family to explore every feeling going through your body. Oftentimes, mom’s who have a child who have been sexually abused feel confused, angry, and lost. Usually, it is a close relative or spouse who is the offender which can leave you asking how you didn’t see it or angry at yourself for missing this person. Alongside your own feelings, you’re leading your child down the path of healing. In therapy with me, you will receive non-judgmental support and education. Many times, the mom’s I work with ask why and how this could’ve happened. We will therapeutically explore the tools of the perpetrator used to groom your child, how they targeted you as their victim, then carve out a path for you to be more than just a survivor. You are a fighter and you will get through this. You can learn to trust yourself and others again.
